Hi beloved readers,
With me having just handed in the manuscript for my second book (about the Christian Right, much of it inspired by the work I did for this newsletter), I’m taking a week off to let the words settle behind my eyes before I can make them sit up and dance again.
David’s off on a sea journey, about which he will no doubt enlighten you when he returns.
It’s the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, this weekend, and I plan to engage in our typical New Year’s pursuits of begging forgiveness of the people in our lives, begging forgiveness of God, and eating lavish meals. I also plan to try out this recipe for an apple and honey galette - if all goes well, it’ll be an auspicious year and this new book will sail off the shelves! No pressure on me, or the tart.

Thanks to everyone who’s been a paying subscriber through a trying year, or a free one. I even wish a happy new year to those haters and losers who unsubscribed, the treacherous swine. And fear not - we will blaze back into contentmongering once the year turns. Expect a meatier sally on Tuesday.
With much love,
Talia
Enjoy!
