I'm a humanist and I find hope in the great things people do every day. Yes, they do evil as well but without darkness, what is light? Best of the season to you and those you love. See you in the new year.
I am not one who posts on comment boards but I feel compelled today to let you know how much I appreciate your writing and your candor. I've followed you on Twitter for quite a while and feel a connection to you there. I'm a 69 year old white lady who grew up Episcopalian in Ohio, though I'm an atheist now. You see, you and I have absolutely nothing in common! But I've also struggled with depression for most of my life and I know in my bones that exercise helps. I love your running posts on Twitter and have been cheering you on. Good luck with your move and enjoy the time off. I will miss you.
Good luck with your move! Looking forward to your return to writing when you are settled and able (and willing) to write again! I finally got to the point this Fall, to preserve my sanity and hope, I deleted both my Twitter and Facebook accounts of many, many years. And, after a very brief twinge of regret about Twitter after a few days, I am happy I did so and do not miss all that noise and misinformation...

Best to you.
