Just about the best description I've heard yet of the entire right-wing project in America from Reagan to today: "a fact-free but consequence-filled campaign of retrenchment."

I was particularly pleased to see that you made the connection between the epithet "groomer" and stochastic terrorism. These people aren't trying to protect children. They're trying to get their critics killed. They are thus no different than the Taliban.

Frenetically accusing teachers of everything from political indoctrination to child abuse - clearly, it's the concept of teachers that terrifies them. The moment it became feasible, they'd try to abolish school completely. They will not be satisfied so long as their kids can interact with the outside world in any way.

They don't want their kids to be human beings who know themselves or can say no - just playthings, shut away in some soundproof room to suffer in silence and ignorance. It's incomprehensibly awful.

Thank you Talia! You have no idea how much we needed articles like this (although from what I read, maybe you do, cuz I too just listened to the recent Qanon Anonymous podcast covering the insane Disney boycott).

It’s evident nobody has solid evidence of queer pedophilic teachers and this “save the kids” battle cry is subliminally induced into right leaning parents to spur political action and get news coverage. It’s everything the CRT fear-mongering propagandist, Christopher Rufo, would hope caught on.

The anti-LGBTQ hysteria has gotten me more angry and sad than I already was. I’m antifascist at my core and loathe seeing this bullshit unfold. Rightwing hate campaigns upon marginalized groups always leads to policy, then violence, then murder. Every time.

Hope you write more on the subject.
