Fantastic, Talia. Searing writing, and I love the line about the "human moths are drawn to that weirding light".

One small correction - the guns cache was seized at an Alberta border, not the Windsor, Ontario one. Same ilk of violent Freedumbers, different province.

Go Ram Ranch!

Fixed, thank you!

Excellence, thank you. One quibble is that in Canada 'premier' indicates a provincial leader, whereas the federal government is led by a prime minister.

It's especially hard when you've got family members whose parents were Holocaust survivors hopped up on this propaganda and insisting there's nothing antisemitic about it. I want to send this to them but they'll refuse to read past the opening paragraph and I'll only get an angry tirade in response.

American opposition to the likes of the leaders of this group should take note. Even though they were allowed to stay and wreak havoc to the local business and residents, when they were ready the anvil came down. People researched the main instigators and publicized who they really were whenever they could. I shutdown anyone that posted positively on my family Facebook (only a few) with facts I kept in NOTES until they were needed. I never heard about White Replacement Theory until these fools. I used the same info on Twitter which hopefully informed a few people. I believe There were participants that truly were snookered. The government had their cash flow halted and locals sued the organizers. Their manifesto was was to kick out the elected govt … not possible. Whenever there is a post from them (except two of the lead organizers Tamara Lich and Pat King who are still in jail) FreedDumb trends on Twitter because this is what the great majority of Canadians think of them. A minority of Albertans who idolize T**mp

The whole piece is great, and it concludes with a brilliant, incisive closing statement (“ But what the “truckers” fight for is not “freedom,” no matter how often they assert it: what they fight for is the desire to keep shadowboxing phantoms and cry victory, rather than to gaze into the dark red maw of a cruel, decaying world. It is hard to do the latter, achingly hard in the bones, as hard as it is necessary, a duty shirked by many more than those who take it up, and it is this plaintive and relentless and unwavering truth that even the sound of a ten thousand truck horns raised up at once cannot drown out.”). Thank you

Truckparkers are different from truckers. Truckers deliver medicine to keep Granny well, and food to keep little Johnny alive; truckparkers try to stop that from occurring. If anyone in power anywhere fails to point out that distinction they are derelict.

I enjoyed the whole article, but that final paragraph is excellent!

Minor correction: Wasn't the city's largest grocery stores closed but the two main ones that serve the residential neighbourhood next to Parliament. Many of the locals don't drive and bus and delivery services currently aren't servicing the area either.

I know that conservative Jews roll their eyes at Tikkun Olam references, but this is the first time I realized that it was code for WHITE GENOCIDE!!! Lefty Jews are so clever, I never suspected the truth. Lol.
