Thank you for adding your voice in support of this petition. It's not difficult to tell who the Nazis are when they proudly claim the label, and use it to monetize their terrible ideas. We must stand up together against their hate — and refuse to accept inaction on the part of people in power.
"Nazis are good only for killing."--My uncle, lead navigator of a B-26 squadron, USAAF, 1944-45.
"For me, the most horrible day(in WWII) was when the Germans(German-Americans) marched by the Alamo waving Nazi flags after Paris fell. The City of Light. And they were celebrating. It was horrible. How could this happen in San Antonio?"--My mother, remembering June 1940.
That's MY family's heritage and attitude towards Nazis, an attitude which I share. HOWEVER, they have the right to political free speech, too. That is the price demanded of us by the First Amendment if we are to enjoy its protections for ourselves.
Substack is functioning more and more as a public square. I hope its owners keep their resolve to protect the right to free speech to which ALL Americans are entitled. That includes you, me, the Uhuru movement currently being persecuted by the Biden Administration, everyone who supports Julian Assange, and, like it or not, and to be honest I really DON'T, bloodydamned Nazis.
This used to be the ACLU's position. It's still mine.
I saw an interview in which the CEO of Substack was pressed on this topic and he wouldn't even address it. I want to write on this platform but that interview dissuaded me from doing so.
Wow, Talia, please go to TwitterX and do this as well. I have not seen a nazi here yet, but If I do, I will kill them (with my pen, of course). (No, not by using the pen to jab at the Nazi trachea, but by penetrating the man's asshole with my words.) Sorry, not a fan of Nazis and was surprised by your article. Never Forget, as grandma would say.
Sometimes yes but there's a lot of people that get called Nazis who are not while there are people who are in fact actually national socialist and don't get called out
People keep claiming this is a huge problem. What is your evidence that this happens to such a degree that it is something to worry about?
But I'm gonna go ahead and guess based on your content that you're worried someone might mistake *you* for a fascist.
There's just absolutely no evidence that argument works against Nazis, anyway. What works is fighting them. That's what we had to do last time. Suggesting that we should "restack" them sure sounds like suggesting that we share their work around. Y'know, so they can get more followers. Not a fucking chance.
Furthermore, there are people spreading Pro Palestine content that are obviously National socialist and are calling for the genocide of all Jews but are being allowed intellectual space as if they were somehow different from Nazis so yes this is a regular daily problem... You just seem to be ignorant of it because you apparently exist in an echo chamber.
.. and before you say some gaslighting deflection like "how was I supposed to know your identity?"..
YOU were the one who came in suggesting that I might be afraid*(?) Of being called fascist, so then it's YOUR responsibility to do the due diligence and do some simple research like just looking at my profile right here on Substack and seeing all the Jewish content.

As a descendant of Holocaust survivors, and a long time peace activists myself I'm deeply grateful for this letter!
Thank you for bringing awareness

Same here. I thought this a safe space. Well, I guess all those were myths anyway.
Furthermore who defines who is a "Nazi"?
Anyone with a lick of common sense.
You obviously haven't noticed how uncommon sense is nowadays
"Furthermore who defines who is a "Nazi"?"
Sometimes the Nazis do? E.g., when they adopt swastika avatars?

White* echo chamber
I'm a black Jewish woman who happens to be an ardent zionist.
Yes I've been called fascist for supporting Israel and traditional Judaism.
I've had crazed Arabs show up at my door after being doxxed on an antifa blog.
They put photos of my SIX YEAR OLD JEWISH DAUGHTER on their blog.
You think that is okay?
Have you not heard the recent chants that "Zionism is racism" and "Zionism is Nazism"?
Are you living under a rock?
