Probably wouldn't fit your theme, but every year at Christmas, we have kielbasa, potato and cheese pierogi, hard boiled eggs, and beet relish with horseradish (which I make my own bowl of, because I tend to go heavy on the horseradish). It's kind of a tribute to my mother, who hand-made her own pierogi, then boiled and fried them with onions, and then topped with sour cream. We get the frozen kind, from a Polish deli that's not far from where we live (they also have the kielbasa), but it's the thought that counts.
Hard to imagine a feast as sumptuous on the table as the ones you put on paper, but your menu made me gasp in delight. One day, I swear by all that is holy, I will taste your avegolemono...
I think you will need some homemade aged eggnog (not the stuff that comes in cartons from the supermarket) served in small bone china cups with saucers.
WOW, just WOW! I want to be invited to this feast. I, too, was eating lunch while reading and I'm drooling all over the table. You have your very own voice vacillating between humor, profundity, insight, loving kindness and delight. It is never boring reading you! yashar koach, vilunya
I just want to tell you I REALLY enjoy your writing. I discovered you through Parker Malloy and I'm glad I did. I hope you do enjoy your holidays and your new home.
Love to you, Tal. Thank you for the feast of writing you've made for us over the years <3
I was eating lunch while I was reading this and getting hungrier as I ate and read down the menu.
I hope 2022 brings you an amazing dinner party you can share with us in your newsletter
Cheers to you, and the day you can host your feast!
